About Us
TRAIN LIKE A PRO IN HIGH ALTITUDE
You may have incorporated some altitude training into your regimen before, but never like this! Located just outside the highest incorporated town in the United States and with close access to the ski towns of Breckenridge and Keystone, as well as mining towns of Leadville, Alma, and Fairplay, HAT House sits at 10,578’ above sea level.
Access rides and run from 8,500’ to 11,700’ above sea level, and hikes up to 14,000’+ (half a dozen nearby peaks of this size!) in some of the most beautiful valleys, scenic mountain passes, and highest peaks in the country that might make you feel like you’re in the Tour de France.
For athletes who want to build their cardiovascular strength or mentally unwind before a big race, “Even if you’ve got only a week to spare, training in the mountains can trigger physical and mental benefits that will last for several weeks after you return to sea level.” (Runner’s World.) Or for those simply looking for a nice team retreat from everyday life where they can train and explore the true magic of the Rocky Mountains. We promise this will be. train-cation you won’t soon forget!

The True Meaning Behind HAT House
“The idea for HAT HOUSE Endurance Camps comes directly from my father, Charles “Chuck” Rogers. My father has always had a passion for skiing and the mountains, and after I moved to Colorado following college, and my mother passed away, he decided to move as well and live his dream of being a full-time Coloradan and ski bum. His purchase of this place in the remote mining town of Alma was initially a bit shocking, but I soon realized that he wanted to be in a place that allows people to truly disconnect from the ‘hustle and bustle’ of everyday life and wanted this place to be a retreat where everyone was welcome, at anytime and for however long they liked. After my father passed of cancer in 2015, I realized I wanted to carry on his legacy and turned the house into an endurance camp where people can continue to unplug from life, allow themselves to get lost in their training, and experience new versions of themselves, both mentally and physically. It’s a place that allows everyone to challenge themselves to be better, just like Chuck did while he was here.”
– Tristen Rogers, owner of HAT House

Take It From These Athletes…
If you’re an endurance athlete looking for an edge on your training and a weekend getaway in the mountains at the same time, HAT House is a must! You can’t accurately describing the breathtaking views this area of CO has to offer (and at 12,000’ plus above sea level!) – just check out some of their pictures (and then see for yourself because they don’t do it justice either). I train here every summer because this camp has everything you could need and more. Tristen is the best host you’ll ever have – preparing our meals, planning out all our rides and runs to accommodate different abilities in our group, and putting together backup plans when the weather didn’t cooperate. Wes and Pro Bike Express SAG’ed our rides and the convenience took all the logistics off our plates. In the evenings, we’d explore the old mining towns just down the road and learn a little more about what makes this area so great. The entire weekend, we didn’t have to think or worry about a single thing. Just do the workout, enjoy the beautiful scenery, hand our bike back to Wes, eat, recover, relax, repeat. Thank you, HAT House!
